Ford World Women's starts Saturday in Swift Current

SWIFT CURRENT, Saskatchewan, March 17...The 2010 Ford World Women's Curling Championship, presented by Monsanto, gets underway Saturday at the Credit Union i-plex in Swift Current. It's the second time that a world women's curling championship has been held in Saskatchewan. In 1983, the event took place in Moose Jaw and was won by Switzerland's Erika Müller. Full story...

Canadians win wheelchair curling gold

VANCOUVER — Team Canada successfully defended its 2006 Paralympic wheelchair curling gold medal Saturday, defeating Korea 8-7 in the final played before a capacity crowd of 5,500. Earlier Saturday, Canada earned its spot in the championship game with a 10-5 triumph over Sweden. Full story....

OVCA Ottawa Men's Bonspiel

The bonspiel started Tuesday night at area clubs. Draw and results are up on the bonspiel website. Grand Aggregate finals are at Granite on Sunday at 1 pm and 5 pm. Dean Hibbard is looking after the official draw and can be reached at 613-894-7968.

OVCA Little Rock Championship

Congratulations to Travis Barber, Hayden Richmond, Ryley Gemmill, and Tyler Hawkins from Perth Curling Club on winning the 2010 Little Rock Championship.

Orphan Clinic at Huntley

OVCA Mixed Bonspiel Winners

Congratulation to the 2010 OVCA Mixed Bonspiel Safeguard Trophy winner Chris Gardner of Ottawa Curling Club. Senior winner was Serge Denis, also of Ottawa Curling Club, a repeat from last year. Other event winners: Paul Madden of Rideau, David Cormier of Huntley, Luc Landiault of Navan, Bob Walker of Granite, and Layne Noble of Rideau (filling in for Wally Morris). Ottawa's Rachel Homan is Canadian Junior Champ

SOREL-TRACY, Que. -- Ontario's Rachel Homan capped an undefeated run at the Canadian junior curling championship by beating Dailene Sivertson's B.C. rink 9-5 on Sunday. It is the first Canadian junior title for skip Rachel Homan, third Emma Miskew, second Laura Crocker and lead Lynn Kreviazuk, along with coach Earle Morris. Full Story...
