The Ontario Tournament of Hearts and Tankard will once again be under the same roof as the City of Cornwall has been selected to host the 2020 Men’s and Women’s Provincial Championships.
Special Olympics is an international organization dedicated to enriching the lives of people with intellectual disabilities through sports. One such sport is curling. In Ottawa, over 40 athletes have registered for curling this year. Some have been practicing the sport for years. They play at the Ottawa or the City View Curling Clubs, supporters of Special Olympics for the past 20 years.
The OVCA is proud to announce that the newest curling facility in the area - Curling des Collines in Chelsea, QC - is also the newest member of the OVCA!
Mother Nature didn’t stop the curling excitement this time! The second event of the 2018/19 season got underway Saturday, October 6th at the RCMP Curling Club as part of the Moosehead Classic run by Capital Curling.
The OVCA recently learned of the decision by the Hawkesbury Golf and Curling Club to suspend its curling program for the 2018-19 season. We are disappointed and saddened for those affected by the suspension.
We are optimistic that those who wish to see curling continue in Hawkesbury can find a way to restart and re-energize their curling program, and the OVCA stands ready to assist in this endeavor.
