Building Description
  • The Richmond Curling Club is a three-storey building: baement, ground level and upper level. 

    • Ground Level: Entry

    • Basement: Ice Access, Change rooms, Washrooms and Lounge

    • Upper Level: Accessible Wachroom, Ice Access and Banquet Hall

Parking
  • There are no reserved spaces for acessible permit holders. 

  • The parking lot is paved. 

  • The entry path is interlocked brick.

Main Entrance
  • The entry is flat with a small lip at the door. 

  • There is no automatic door opener for the main door. 

  • The door is relatively easy to open. 

  • There is a lift at the main entrance to access the upper level. Unfortuantely, the lift is not functional at this time.

Lounge
  • The lounge is in the basement and is not accessible.

Washroom
  • The accessible washroom is on the upper level but it cannot be accessed. At this time, the lift is not operational. 

  • The accessible washroom is gender neutral.

Locker Rooms
  • The locker rooms are located in the basement, which is not accessible. 

  • There is no gender neutral locker room however, there is a gender neutral restroom on the upper level.

Ice Surface
  • The ice surface cannot be accessed from the building by wheelchair users. 

  • Richmond can make an accomodation to have the ice shed accessed via the side door (from the parking lot). 

Notes
  • The Richmond Curling Club has looked into having their lift repaired. Unfortuantely, they have been unable to do so, due to its advanced age.
