Building Description
  • The Rideau Curling Club is three floors: basement, main level and second floor. 

    • Basement: Locker Rooms and Washrooms

    • Main Level: Lounge, Universal Accessible Washroom, Bar and Ice Surface. 

    • Second Level: Viewing Area, Bar, Hall and Kitchen.

  • There are no designated accessibile permit holder parking spots. 

  • The parking lot is paved.

Main Entrance
  • There is a ramp into the main entry.

  • The entry door does not have an automatic door operator.

Lounge
  • There is a second set of doors to get into the lounge. They are heavy and there is no automatic door operator.

  • There are three stairs into the lounge. 

  • A ramp is available by buzzing the manager or bartender, before entering the second doors. The ramp is quite steep.

  • The building has two floors, plus a basement. Only the main floor is accessible.

  • There is an accessible washroom in the lounge. 

  • The accesible washroom is gender neutral.

Locker Rooms
  • The locker rooms are located in the basement. There is not an accessible route to access them.

Ice Surface
  • There is a small transition strip between the lounge and the ice shed (< 0.5 in).

  • There is no automatic door operator for the door to the ice shed. 

    • The door is light and relatively easy to open with room to turn. 

  • There is no portable ramp or accessible route to the ice surface.
